Would you love to create your own music, but don’t know where to start?

Perhaps you’re already writing down lyrics and poetry, or humming a tune that you made up in the shower, or while you were doing the dishes.

Many of us have an idea in our head about who songwriting is and isn’t for. Maybe songwriters are just people performing at open mic nights, or writing hit tunes for the radio?

The truth is that songwriting is a wonderful form of self-expression that all of us can tap into.

Our songs don’t have to end up on the radio, or even be listened to by anyone else, for us to get something out of making them. Maybe you’re having a bit of a hard time, or maybe you’ve fallen in love? Or maybe you just feel a rush of inspiration when you see a bird soaring through the sky. Guess what? This is all great songwriting fodder!

Songwriting is a therapeutic and fun activity.

It’s like a puzzle that you can create for yourself. Once you decide what you’re going to write about, it can be really satisfying working out which bits will go where, finding words that rhyme (if you’re so inclined), and coming up with a tune - something that suits your voice if you like to sing; because after all, you’ve made it yourself.

I’ve carried out songwriting sessions in a variety of different settings, including with 5 year olds, and adults with disabilities, and together we have teased out the most amazing, original, and beautiful songs that they are so proud of, and that their friends and family love. And I can help you to do the same.

You don’t need to have written a song before, or have any previous musical knowledge - as long as you have the desire to create, and the patience and commitment to attend a session, we can come up with something brilliant, and unique to you.
